The City of Ankeny has a full-time park and recreation department dedicated to providing quality parks, programming and recreational amenities. The City’s commitment to quality of life is notable, including:
25 developed parks with over 600 acres of parkland. Ankeny boasts the fastest growing park system in Iowa.
120 acre Prairie Ridge Sports Complex for football, baseball, softball and soccer. This complex hosted over 10,000 games during the 2005 season and featured the 2005 Iowa Baseball Field of the Year as named by the Iowa Sports Turf Managers Association.
